The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a National Level Entrance Examination for admission to management programmes in the country. This Test facilitates AICTE affiliated/ Participating Institutions to select suitable graduate candidates for admission to the Management Courses in such Institutions. The CMAT score is accepted by all AICTE-Approved Institutions/University Departments/Constituent Colleges/Affiliated Colleges.
CMAT exam is a three-hour computer-based online test, which is conducted to evaluate the candidate’s ability across various segments. The examination has 180 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) and the medium for the question paper is English only.
There are four mandatory sections in the exam which are Quantitative Technique, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, and General Awareness. Each section has 25 questions and is of 100 marks with hence the overall exam is 400 marks. There is one optional section called Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Each correct answer will fetch you 4 marks whereas there is a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer. No marks are allotted or deducted for un-attempted questions.

Syllabus:
The syllabus for the exam will be as prescribed by AICTE.
Medium of Question Paper:
The medium of the Question Paper shall be in English only.
Marking Scheme:
- Each question carries 04 (four) marks.
- For each correct response, a candidate will get 04 (four) marks.
- For each incorrect response, 01 (one) mark will be deducted from the total score.
- Un-answered/un-attempted will be given no marks.
- To answer a question, the candidate needs to choose one option as the correct option.
- However, after the process of Challenges of the Answer Key, in case there are multiple correct options or change in key, only those candidates who have attempted it correctly as per the revised answer key will be awarded marks.
- In case a Question is dropped due to some technical error, full marks shall be given to all the candidates who have attempted it.
