Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national level examination through which various B-schools screen candidates for admission to MBA programs. The All India Management Association (AIMA) conducts the MAT exam every year. It is also one of the most popular management entrance exams in India.
Management Aptitude Test (MAT) 2022 Exam Pattern
MAT 2022 exam will comprise of five sections, namely Language Comprehension, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, and Environment. Each section will have 40 questions. Overall there will be 200 questions and a candidate will be given 150 minutes to solve the paper. There are no sectional time frames. This is an advantage as the candidates can switch between the sections whenever they want. Apart from Language Comprehension, Quantitative Aptitude, and Reasoning, there will be a section on the Indian and Global Environments. This will have questions on current affairs. Hence aspirants should prepare for current affairs as well.
MAT 2022 Marking Scheme
- The total duration of the MAT exam will be 150 minutes
- For each correct answer, you will be rewarded one marks
- For each wrong answer, your 0.25 marks will be deducted
- There will be four options for each question from which you will have to select one
- The MAT exam is of 200 marks but the scaled score is awarded out of 800 marks

February 2022 MAT Exam Registration Fee
- Candidates can opt for 2 MAT IBT/PBT+IBT/CBT+IBT/PBT+CBT tests by paying an extra fee of Rs.1100/- in addition to Rs.1650/-.
- Candidates opting for 2 MAT IBTs/PBT+IBT/CBT+IBT/PBT+CBT will have the benefit of selecting additional 2 Management Institutes for sending their scores in addition to the existing option of selecting 5 Management Institutes i.e. they can select 7 Management Institutes in total.
- Register online with Credit Card/Debit Card (ATM Card), Net Banking, UPI and Paytm wallet. The fee details are given as below:
